How a coaching culture in schools changes everything
Half-day INSET available 2025
With wellbeing firmly (and rightly) on the agenda, school staff are increasingly demanding development and coaching over top-down management.

This half-day INSET (2 sessions) gives delegates a unique insight into coaching, what it is (and isn't), and how having a coaching approach leads to a progressive and vibrant workplace, where people enjoy working and want to stay. Participants will learn about coaching models and experience them in an informative and interactive environment.
New for 2024-5
Many schools and school leaders know first hand the huge benefits that coaching can bring. Many Heads and Senior Leaders are now routinely coached, but often cannot afford to extend coaching to the middle leadership, even though they would like to. The COG plan provides schools with an affordable and self-sustaining route to a coaching culture, beginning in the middle.
A coaching culture is one which is positive and progressive, one which is attractive for quality teachers to work at and stay at. A coaching culture puts wellbeing at the heart of the workplace. A positive workplace celebrates success and builds morale. A progressive workplace is one in which active listening, asking questions, clarifying understanding, raising awareness, self-regulation and encouraging responsibility are the norm. These are all coaching habits. Coaching should not be just a formal activity reserved for performance meetings, but the default for all our interactions.
The COG plan is a 3 day programme which starts in the middle of the school, with the middle leadership, focussing on their particular experiences, needs and pressures. The first two days are designed to be delivered as close in time as possible to each other, with the third around six months later.
